Birchbox February 2013

Hey hey! I did a video on this last week, and completely forgot to post it. Probably because I keep getting distracted by all of these snowstorms that keep hitting us. Snow makes me anxious, and considering that we just got around 15 inches dumped on us last night on top of the several inches of snow from last Thursday, well…I’m literally trapped. No bueno. lol!

I wasn’t feeling well when filming this, and you can tell. You can barely hear me. lol! Anyhoo, here it is:

In the box:

Color Club Nail Polish in Wild Cactus

Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips

SKIN&Co Roma Cleansing Body Gel with Olive & Sicilian Orange Extracts

twistband Thick Headband

Ghirardelli Milk & Caramel Square

🙂 Snack Food Box

Had to remove the address label!

Had to remove the address label! is a weekly box subscription that focuses on healthy and tasty snacks for $5 per week, and is billed on a weekly basis. $5 per week? That’s pretty awesome, quite frankly! And hi, it’s always nice to get a package in the mail each week!

So I went ahead and subscribed about two weeks ago, and I just received my first box today! Here’s what it included:

Boston Baguettes

Marvellous Macaroon

IMG_0615Honeycomb Crunch

Summer Berry Flapjack

This all looks so tasty!!! I cannot wait to try these. 😀 I will definitely keep up with the subscription for at least a month, just to gauge how much I really like it and to see if it’s worth the $20 – $25 per month. Stay tuned! 🙂

Easy Alfredo Sauce – Large Photos Ahead

Honestly, if I’d known how easy it is to make alfredo sauce, I would have started doing it years ago. I’ve made this version a few times now, and I really like it. Hopefully you will too!

1/2 C butter (1 stick)

8 oz cream cheese (I use 4 oz of regular cream cheese and 4 oz of Philadelphia Cooking Creme in Savory Garlic)

2 C milk

2 tablespoons flour

1/2 C grated parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

Vegetables (carrots, peas, broccoli) – optional

Green onions – optional

1) Break out your pot/pan and melt the butter over low heat. Once the butter is melted, add the cream cheese and whisk until smooth.

DSC013592) Once the mixture is smooth, whisk in the milk and the flour.

3) Whisk in the parmesan cheese, mix until completely smooth, and then add the salt and pepper (to taste).

4) Let the sauce sit over low heat for a few minutes, and then turn off the heat. As the sauce sits there, it will begin to thicken.

5) Once it has thickened, pour it over your pasta and mix them together thoroughly. This is also when you would add your veggies and/or your green onion.

Enjoy! 🙂

Apex Fashion Eyelashes

It’s been a little bit since I’ve done false eyelashes. After seeing that the pair that I really wanted to try were sold out on (handmade glamour lashes with the transparent stem – ES-A562, )I decided to try some that I found on eBay. Apex Eyelash (fashion eyelashes) in #3. There are nine pairs of lashes in the box, which means that I will have plenty of lashes to play with! I don’t necessarily think that these ones are reusable, but that’s okay, because this box will only set you back $4. It’s okay to throw these away once you’re finished using them. 😉

I will say that I like these. I just need to play around with them some more, and maybe go back to another brand of glue. I used the lash adhesive that came with the Kiss lashes from a few months ago, but apparently it wasn’t enough to keep these lashes on for very long. This box came with little adhesive packs…maybe I’ll actually try them next time. 🙂
