Easy DIY Facial Gel (Moisturizer)

So…this is so easy that it’s ridiculous. πŸ˜‰ I have oily skin, but the winter makes it do strange things. It turns into combination skin, with my forehead and nose remaining oily, and my cheeks become really dry and irritated. None of my storebought moisturizers are helping with the dry areas, so I figured I would take to the internet and find something, ANYTHING that would help my skin feel and look more moisturized. And of course, the answer was simple – aloe vera gel and glycerin. It’s light, and you don’t need to use much of it to get complete coverage.

Why didn’t I think of that? lol

What you need:

Aloe Vera gel

Glycerin (regular or vegetable)

A bowl and spoon/spatula for mixing

A clean container to store it in!

I unfortunately don’t have exact measurements (as in a tablespoon of this, or a cup of that). What I do is use three parts aloe vera gel and one part glycerin. Mix them together thoroughly, and then put it into a container. Use as necessary. Just a reminder, though – you don’t have to use very much of this at all. It spreads really easily.

This time I used an airless pump bottle (1 oz size – you can find them for sale on eBay, Lotioncrafter.com, skin-perfection.com, etc. and they are not expensive!). This is great for me, because one pump is enough for my skin. Maybe two if I’m feeling special. πŸ˜‰

I’m not sure how this is going to work for my skin when Summer comes around and brings it’s little friend, Humidity, but for now? It’s perfect, and my skin is thanking me for it. πŸ™‚

What’s In My Closet…With Price Tags Still On Them?

I get the feeling that this is just part 1 of what will be an ongoing series. *sighs* Alrighty! So here are two things that I ordered back in December, and have yet to wear…because it’s February. πŸ˜€

1) Crop Voile Pants from ASOS…in white! Mind you, these have been in their packaging…in my closet…since last month. Which is why there are creases in places where there shouldn’t be creases! They are hanging up in the closet now. Maybe they’ll straighten themselves out by the time Spring rolls around. Y’all know that I hate ironing.

Can’t wait to wear these! πŸ™‚

2) From eBay: “Deep V Party Cocktail Club Stylish Mini Dress” – yes, that was the title of the listing. Basically any keyword that would fit.

Anyhoo, I knew that this dress would be short, because it was short on the model in the listing photo. I should have taken into account that dresses that are short on most people are even shorter on me.

Who slashed the mirror?!?

Yay for a short torso and long legs! I do like the dress. I have no idea were I would wear this super short thing, but I like it. Maybe I can find a way to lengthen it a bit with a similar fabric. Still above the knee, but not THIS far above the knee, yeesh! lol

Yeah, I’m thinking that I’m going to have to do one of these once a month…because there are plenty of clothes in my closet that still have the price tags on them. It’s ridiculous. *hangs head in shame*
