LUSH Cosmetics and I have had a love affair going on since that fateful meeting in 2004 at their store inside of Toronto Pearson International Airport. I’d read about LUSH in one of my magazines a few months before and was intrigued, so to see a shop in person…to smell all of the luscious deliciousness inside…it was an amazing time, to say the least!
I was on vacation recently and happened upon a LUSH store down on Front Street in Lahaina (on the island of Maui…Hawaii). I had to stop and buy a few things. I HAD TO. It was calling me. How it knew my name, I’ll never know.
What goodies threw themselves into my basket?
The Rosie gift box, for starters. I love the smell of roses, and I am madly in love with the smell of LUSH’s Rose Jam. Madly. Never mind that I’m still upset with LUSH for taking away their Rose Jam Gorilla Perfume. Yes, it was a limited edition. And yes, I am thankful for one of my best sister friends who sent me two bottles of this gorgeous fragrance! Really should have stocked up on it when I had the chance, but I digress.
Back to the Rosie box. It comes with a Rose Jam Bubbleroon (one of my favorites!), Rose Queen Bath Bomb, Amandopondo Bubble Bar, and a small tub of Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner.
(I thought I had a separate photo of the bubbleroon! Clearly I do not. I don’t know what happened!)
And then, for good measure, I bought another Rose Jam Bubbleroon, and two of my other all-time favorites – King of Skin and Buffy. Remember when Buffy was called Buffy the Backside Slayer? Those were good days! π I didn’t take photos of KoS or Buffy before I threw them in the freezer, but if you’re not familiar with them, you can take a look at them over at LUSH Cosmetics!
Yes, I’m already planning out what I want to buy during the After Christmas Sale. I am not ashamed. π
And I am way late with this post as well! For the same reasons as stated in the previous post, actually. But I am finally feeling better, and am ready to get back to posting! So…here we go!
I signed up with Influenster earlier this year after watching several VoxBox videos on YouTube. It seemed like an interesting company, so I thought that I’d give it a go! Influenster is an online community where people review products and talk about their experiences with said products. It’s free to join, and if you want more in-depth information about Influenster, you can check it out here: http://www.influenster.com/about
I was selected to receive a Beauty Bloggers VoxBox 2012 (disclaimer: This was a complimentary box given to me by Influenster to test and review through their VoxBox program), which came in the mail while I was on vacation. When I came home and saw this box waiting for me, I was super excited to rip this thing open and see what was inside!
The contents of the VoxBox:
EBOOST – This is an easy to mix powder drink that’s good for immunity, focus, and when you Β just need a boost! Mmmmmmm…orange. π
NYC New York Color IndividualEyes Custom Compact – The card says that this is an all-in-one compact, with a primer, illuminator, applicator, and shadows. It’s interesting! Will try this soon.
Not Your Mother’s Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream – I really need to try this out, considering that the frizz and I are not friends. It is the bane of my existence! *shakes fists*
Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin – I love these things! ‘Nuff said. π
Kiss Ever Pro Lashes Starter Kit – I will try these out soon! I love lashes, real and fake! Ha!
Bath & Body Works Mini Candle in Pumpkin Cupcake – Smells exactly how it sounds. Delicious. π
I was really delighted with this box, and I am really glad that I joined Influenster. Check them out, see if it’s something that’s a good fit for you and your needs. π
Hey hey! I am way late with this one, because I was on vacation when this Birchbox hit the post office. I just got back on Monday, and then I got sick after that (7 hours on a plane with people coughing and hacking without covering their mouths will do that to you). So…I am just now getting around to posting this month’s Birchbox. Sorry about that!
I opted for the Goop Birchbox this time, and I’m glad that I did! There were four products plus one lifestyle product in the box, all listed below:
Amika Obliphica Nourishing Mask – I will try this one out over the weekend…
Chantecaille Faux Cils Mascara – I tried this, and I really like it so far. It’s not heavy on my lashes, and my sensitive eyes didn’t have a reaction, which is a plus.
DDF Wrinkle Resist Plus Pore Minimizer – Tried this as well, but I’m not sure how well I like it as of yet. I will give it a few more tries before giving an opinion about it.
Eve Lom Cleanser and Muslin Cloth – I like this, but I don’t know if it’s that I really like the cleanser itself, or the process that you use to cleanse your face with the muslin cloth (rub small amount of cleanser onto dry face, fill basin with hot water, dip the cloth into the water, wring out, and put the hot cloth onto your face. Repeat. Use cloth to exfoliate and remove the rest of the cleanser from face. Run cloth under cold water, put on face, end.). Time will tell.
Lifestyle Extra: Luna LemonZest bar – Just waiting to snack on this bar! π
Did everyone like their Birchboxes this month? π
