Birthday Finds!

Hey hey! My birthday was a few days ago, and I’m adjusting to being 35 a little better than I thought I would. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to be another year older, because it absolutely beats the alternative! I’m just happy to be here! πŸ˜€ So, I did what you’re supposed to do for your birthday – I went shopping!

What madness occurred this time?

Etsy Finds: Merry Early Christmas?

Etsy and I are friends. We really are. But sometimes I look at it and wonder why it must tempt me so. Like, why are you trying to take all of my money, huh? HUH? Of course, that means that I’ve come across a few things that I really want…but don’t necessarily want to pay that much for. Right now.

*all photos are from Etsy.com

1) Stretch Silk Camisole and Pajama PantsΒ ($72 and $98 respectively) – They just look so silky! I want. I waaaaant!

2) Patina Cuff BraceletΒ ($179.31) – It’s beautiful! It’s just beautiful. πŸ™‚

3) Black Trenchcoat with LeatherΒ ($254) – It’s getting cold again, and this would be a perfect addition to the wardrobe…

4) Classic Black Jacket with LeatherΒ ($129) – I need to stop playing and buy this. I’ve wanted it for a year or two now, and keep procrastinating. No more. This will definitely be my Christmas present to myself. πŸ˜‰

5) Vintage New & Old Jewelry Phone CaseΒ ($495) – This is so gorgeous, and is exactly what I have been looking for! But I am not paying that much for a cell phone cover. I could absolutely understand if it is all fine jewelry, and it’s probably a bit of a mix, but the phone itself costs around that much. No. If the price ends up being lowered, though… πŸ˜‰

What’s calling out to you on Etsy these days? What items keep threatening to empty out your wallet with no apologies?

Short Trip – Phoenix & Los Angeles

I’m back! I went out of town last week for a couple of quick trips. And by quick trips, I mean four flights and two states in five days. I. Am. Tired. But it was worth it!

First stop was Phoenix for my cousin’s wedding! I got to see one of my dearest friends, my fabulous family, friends that I haven’t seen in awhile, and slept in a nice, fluffy bed for two nights.

Cronuts! I am in love!!!

And of course, I had to pick up a few things while we were in Little Tokyo. Assorted goodies, masks for my face, a mask for my hair, and even though I have a serious like/hate relationship with American Apparel, I needed a bodysuit. So, yeah.

Pinterest – Trying the Listerine Foot Soak

Okay, so we’re all addicted to Pinterest. That’s pretty much a given, right? There are so many DIY things to try, and not enough hours in the day! I’m about to go on a little mini-vacation (cousin’s wedding and celebrating my birthday early, whaaaat!), and I thought about going to get a pedicure, but I’m officially out of time! So, I decided to try the Listerine foot soak that I’ve seen all over Pinterest lately. The amount of each ingredient listed seems to vary depending on who is posting, but here’s the one that I am using right now:

1 C Listerine (any color – I’m using the purple one)

1 C white vinegar

4 C warm water

*no, there will not be any pictures of my feet. You don’t need that in Β your life. πŸ˜‰

I don’t know if other people have experienced this, but my feet tingled for the first couple of minutes after putting them in the liquid. But hey, you’d kind of expect that when dipping your feet in Listerine, right? πŸ™‚ I let them soak for 15 minutes, and then scrubbed the bottoms of my feet. In all honesty, it didn’t work quite as well as I thought that it would. It did remove some dead skin, but not enough for it to be a part of my weekly routine. Part of me thinks that I added too much water, or maybe not enough of the other ingredients? It was okay. Not great, just okay.

If you want to try this out, check out several of the “recipes” on Pinterest, and decide which one will be best for you. And then let me know if it worked for you!

Note: Some people seem to experience their feet picking up the color of the Listerine, but it apparently comes off when you’re scrubbing your feet. I’ve only read this from people who have used the blue Listerine. I also am not sure if the generic blue mouthwash will do the same, but if you’re not concerned with walking away with Smurf feet, then do what you must! πŸ˜€
