Video: Tatcha Bestsellers Set

Happy New Year!!! The holiday season officially marked Gift Set Season at Sephora! 🙂 I picked up the Tatcha Bestsellers Set, and decided to do a few videos on it. Let me know if you’ve tried it, or which Tatcha products you want to try, or that you love!

Cosmetics Company Store: Clinique

The Cosmetics Company Store. If you’ve never been to one, or you live close to one, or you see one when you’re on vacation, you might want to stop in and see what kinds of makeup/skincare/fragrance goodies they have inside…at a discount! You can find several different brands in these stores, including MAC, Estee Lauder, Lancome, Origins, Bobbi Brown, Smashbox, and more. The closest store to me is about two hours away, and I had the opportunity to drop by and peruse the goods about a month ago. What did I buy?

Not much. 😀

There were so many different products to choose from, but I decided that what I really needed were a few more skincare products. So I trucked it on over to the Clinique wall, and grabbed a couple of items that were in the travel set section.

Travel Set #1:

Mild Liquid Facial Soap, Clarifying Lotion 2, and the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. The price for this one was $12.00. The only product in this set that I’d used before in the past was the Moisturizing Lotion, which was the main reason that I picked up this particular travel set. Apparently this one is for very dry to dry combination skin, and my skin is oily as all get out, but it actually works very well with my skin. I’ve never tried the set for oily skin, so I don’t know how much of a difference that would have made, but so far, I’m not having any problems with this one. The only thing that I don’t like is the fact that you’ll run out of the Moisturizing Lotion before you are anywhere near finished with the soap or the clarifying lotion. Meh.

Travel Set #2:

This one caught my eye, as all of the outer packaging was in Russian. I’m assuming that there was a LOT of overstock going on with this particular product, or maybe it didn’t sell well in Russia and was shipped back Stateside? I don’t know what that was all about, but the set was only $12.00, so I picked it up and kept it moving! 🙂

This set consists of three items as well. The Turnaround Instant Facial Masque, Turnaround Body Smoothing Cream, and the Superdefense SPF 25 Age Defense Moisturizer. I haven’t tried the masque or the cream yet, but I just started using the moisturizer (because I ran out of the moisturizer from the set mentioned above!), and so far…I like it. I don’t love it, but I like it. And there’s far more product in this little jar than I’d initially thought!

The only thing that I don’t like is that it has that SPF scent, you know? It just bothers me. We’ll see how this goes.

I’m looking forward to visiting another Cosmetics Company Store in the (hopefully) near future! You know I could always use more skincare products…and makeup…

Or at least that’s what I keep telling myself. 😀

Birthday Finds!

Hey hey! My birthday was a few days ago, and I’m adjusting to being 35 a little better than I thought I would. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to be another year older, because it absolutely beats the alternative! I’m just happy to be here! 😀 So, I did what you’re supposed to do for your birthday – I went shopping!

What madness occurred this time?

Lipstick time! The next post will focus on these lipsticks (plus one more), with swatches and photos of what they look like on! 🙂

I was running low on this color, so it was time to pick up another one. Kat Von D Painted Love lipstick in Homegirl. One of my holy grail lipsticks. Love, love, love this:

And you know that it’s Sephora gift set time! Yay for the holidays, right? I love mascara to a ridiculous degree, so when the sales associate showed me this one, it was over! Four mini mascaras, and two full sized mascaras for $28? The retail value is $95? Like I’m going to pass that up!

Bought, Sampled, Tested.

Sooooo, it was finally warm again, which meant that going outside was absolutely mandatory. Going shopping was not, but I did it anyway. 😉 Made a little trip to Sephora for one thing, and came back with a few samples. Honestly, I love the fact that you can sample pretty much anything in the store before making a commitment. Try before you buy!

sep1

MUFE HD Powder – what I actually went in to get!

Sample of NUDE Progenius Oil – radiant skin, anti-aging, etc. It feels beautiful on the skin…

Sample of Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel – forgot I had a bunch of Beauty Insider points to use. And here we are.

Sample of Philosophy When Hope Is Not Enough – I used to use this a few years ago, but I couldn’t remember how well it worked. Yay samples?

Sample of Philosophy Miracle Worker – anti-aging eye repair

Next up was a quick trip to TJ Maxx – hey, don’t pay full price if you don’t have to, okay? 😉

tj1 tj3 tj2

Mia Bun Ease – it’s supposed to be an easy way to create a full bun. I did try it out today. That will be in the next post…

H2O+ Face Oasis Ultra Hydrator – I really like this one so far. I needed a new moisturizer (changing seasons and all), and I love the products that H2O+ has to offer. In fact, I need to restock a few items…

Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm – I haven’t used this one in awhile either, so I figured I’d grab a bottle…at a discounted price. Love how this makes my hair feel…

And then there are the samples that came in the mail last week of Oscar Blandi Hair Lift Instant Thickening & Strengthening Serum, which I first tried out through Birchbox and loved. I found a sample 10-pack on eBay and couldn’t resist.
